Seashore, Sunshine, Sand Castles and Scrumptiousness
If you’re looking for a great kid-friendly California coastal dining spot, I suggest you check out Padaro Beach Grill in Carpinteria. Located between Ventura and Santa Barbara, right off the 101 freeway, Padaro Beach Grill is perfect for a family lunch or play date.
It’s situated right next to the beach and offers outside seating in a beautiful grassy setting. The highlight (for kids) is a giant sandbox complete with sand toys. Plus, there’s lots of room to run around and play tag or hide-and-seek. And on occasion, kids can watch a train whiz by on the railroad tracks that run between the restaurant and beach.
Parents can kick back at a table or in a chair in the sand while watching their kids play.
Padaro Beach Grill’s food is great too. I love their BBQ Chicken Salad (and order it every time I go there). Other menu items are burgers, sandwiches, a variety of salads, seafood specialties (including fish and chips, fish tacos, shrimp tacos), sides (including fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings), appetizers (quesadilla, nachos, calamari), a kids’ menu (that includes burgers, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and quesadillas), and tasty treats like shakes, malts, and floats.
Beverages include all kinds of sodas, iced teas, lemonade, bottled and sparkling water, Hank’s Gourmet Pure Cane Sugar Sodas (root beer, orange cream, black cherry), draft and bottled beer, and locally selected Santa Barbara County wines.
Padaro Beach Grill is located at 3765 Santa Claus Lane, Carpinteria, right off the 101 freeway. Phone: 805-566-0617. Website: http://www.padarobeachgrill.com/
